Kadosh (1992) Amos Gitai

This movie deals with the real grief and hardship caused by the application of ancient rules to the challenges of modern existentialism. In respect of the treatment of women in contemporary society the movie is a brave effort to tell it like it is and seek some honest debate on the mores of many who have a voice in the situation there and elsewhere where such issues continue to confront the conscience of well meaning people. If you have an interest in the cultures of the Jewish people, seek a perspective on modern day Israel or are simply interested in a great human story this is a movie you will not want to miss.
